Rimsha is a second-year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) student at the University of British Columbia. Her research project is focussed on assessing the performance of different strategies for estimating vancomycin area under the curve (AUC) in children. AUC represents a key index related to the effectiveness of vancomycin, an antibiotic that is used to treat penicillin-resistant infections. The goal of this work is to inform clinicians on best practices for monitoring vancomycin therapy in their pediatric patients.
